Ingredients

Meatballs
1 lb Ground Beef
1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
1/2 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Chili Flakes
1/4 tsp Pepper
2 Tbsp Parmesan
1 clove, minced Garlic
1 beaten Egg
Sauce
1 lb Ground Beef
1 large, chopped Onion
1 chopped Green Pepper
2 stalks, chopped Celery
5 cloves, minced Garlic
1 can Whole Tomatoes
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1 Bay Leaf
2 jars Tomato Sauce
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Chili Flakes
1 box Spaghetti

Spaghetti with Meatballs

I always make this for Jennifer on her birthday. It's hard to tell if she's happiest knowing we'll be eating it on her special day, or knowing she gets to bring leftovers home.

When straining pasta, keep a bit of the water in the bottom of the pot to prevent the pasta from clumping together before serving.

Steps

Mix meatball ingredients together, form into balls on a baking tray and cook for 20 minutes at 350 F.

In a large pot, add ground beef and spices and cook until beef has browned.

Add vegetables and cook until onions are transparent.

Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour (or longer if possible).

While sauce is simmering, add spaghetti to a pot of boiling water and cook 6 - 8 minutes.
